Treasure Hunt! Lincoln Park's Hidden Gems

Chicago

Named after U.S. President Abe Lincoln, Lincoln Park is a 1,208-acre park situated along Lake Michigan on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois. With its manicured gardens, sweeping city views and sandy, Lake Michigan shoreline, it's a nature lovers dream. But Lincoln Park is packed with hidden treasures, from a secret garden to a mausoleum that recalls the parks' previous incarnation as a cemetery. Get ready for adventure as you unveil some of the park's hidden gems. I'm Amy Bizzarri, author of Discovering Vintage Chicago and 111 Places in Chicago That You Must Not Miss, both available at your local library, bookstore or on amazon.com. Follow me on Instagram @amybizzarri for my latest Chicago adventures. I'm always exploring my hometown city of Chicago, and Lincoln Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods thanks to its rich history. Note that some of the featured sites are only open during daytime hours, including the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond, so check the times before you go. Also, due to Covid, the Lincoln Park Zoo requires reservations at LPzoo.org as well as the Lincoln Park Conservatory at lincolnparkconservancy.org
